What's it about?
Set in 16th century England, during the reign of Henry VIII and based on Hilary Mantel's novel with the same title, Wolf Hall follows the story of Thomas Cromwell - ambitious man of low birth who at some point in his life became the most influential man in all of England.
Why watch it?
To learn more about Thomas Cromwell, the politics of Henry VIII's court, the fall of Wolsey and Anne Boleyn; for very precise, controlled acting; a slightly grim tale of Tudor England; if you enjoyed Mantel's novels.

Critics Reception
Bearing in mind that the mini-series is based on the award-winning book series by Hilary Mantel, it comes as little surprised that the show had a warm welcome from the critics from the start, being the 'serious British drama' with well-known and beloved British actors, rather than a glamorizing tale that The Tudors series tells. Wolf Hall is often described as a masterpiece and one of the best British dramas released in the recent years - praised for its 'controlled' pace and brilliant acting.
