A Royal Night Out, 2015

What's it about?

V-E Day, 1945. The princesses, Elizabeth and Margaret, convince their parents to let them join Londoners for the celebrations incognito - and so they indulge in their only chance to blend in with the crowd and have fun like common English people do after losing their chaperones in the very beginning of their night out.

Why watch it?

For a pleasant story about the modern ruling monarch's youth - and one of the most important dates in British history; for an fun and light-hearted film; if you are prepared to sit back and enjoy it without getting enraged by this made-up story in a historical setting.

Critics Reception

Following the critics' varied choice of words, the message boils down to one thing: A Royal Night Out is as charming as it is silly and somewhat predictable. It is exactly what the trailer promises it to be - a fun, romantic film about two curious royal young women who get to experience the world for the first time.
