Critical Reception
For such a highly anticipated film, The Scandalous Lady W received very harsh criticism - primarily for the lack of substance and the predictability of the resolution. It also seems to be too black--and-white in terms of the characters morality and applies 21st century thinking in rough strokes on the 18th century setting.
