What's it about?
Set in 467 A.D., the film follows the Roman officer Arthur and his friends on their final mission before being discharged for 15 years of service - they have to rescue an important Roman family from the Saxons up north. He ends up freeing some of the captives from the dungeon and takes them to safety down south with him.
Why watch it?
As Facebook people often say, because 'it at least attempts historical accuracy'; for a gritty, Gladiator-like visual style; if you're a Keira Knightley period drama fan; for an alternative King Arthur story without magic.

Critics Reception
Although the film claims to be a more 'historically accurate' representation of King Arthur's legends, it is often criticized for historical mistakes. Worse than that, despite having a great cast and the screenwriter being certainly qualified after his Gladiator script, the movie is often criticised for lack of character development, entertainment and a weak plot. All of the magic is taken out, the famous love triangle is also absent - so from the actual myth there's only the names and a round table left, mixed with gritty visuals.
