The upcoming film focuses on the 1918 Peterloo Massacre - when a peaceful workers' rights protest at St Peter's Field in Manchester with around 50,000 people attending turned into a blood bath. Hundreds of unarmed people were injured, including women and children, and some were killed. The event is one of the most notorious moments in British history and played an important role in founding The Guardian newspaper.
